Lauren Read
Lauren is the Senior Vice President, dCarbon Ventures at BKV Corporation, overseeing Carbon Capture, Utilization and Storage (CCUS) initiatives in support of BKV’s ambitious Net Zero goals.
Lauren’s career passion is to design, commercialize and execute projects that deliver sustainable energy solutions in natural gas, electricity, ethanol, ammonia and other industries. She has a proven track record of solving complex multidisciplinary problems in ways that generate strong returns, support critical industries and do good for people and the environment. Her expertise is as a creative and data-driven builder, combining technical, financial, and other risk elements to aggressively pursue the top opportunities that will drive both short and long-term business success.
Lauren delivers measurable execution and operational results that exceed expectations, evidenced by successful management of scope, schedule and budget on dozens of large capital projects with zero lost-time safety incidents. She has more than 16 years of experience in highly technical E&P and CCUS engineering leadership from customer to pore throat, including reservoir characterization and modeling, well drilling and completions, production/injection, remedial operations, wellsite facilities, compression and pipelines.
Prior to BKV, Lauren worked at ExxonMobil where she spent a decade directing appraisal, development and operations of E&P fields and reservoirs across California, Texas, Utah, New Mexico, Colorado and Wyoming.
Lauren received a BS degree in chemical engineering from the University of Utah, where she graduated cum laude. In 2025, Lauren was recognized as a Hart Influential Women in Energy Honoree.
In her free time, Lauren enjoys wake surfing, scuba diving and skiing with her husband of 17 years and two children. She is also an accomplished musician and avid backyard chicken keeper.
