BKV in Atlanta Nominated for Emmy Award

ATLANTA - Emmy statuettes were presented to honor excellence in television news, programming, production, and individual talents at the 2005 Southeast Regional Emmy Awards on Saturday, June 18, 2005 at the Grand Hyatt Atlanta in Buckhead. The Southeast Chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences (NATAS) sponsored the annual Emmy Awards ceremony. Rhonda Britten, a life coach on NBC-TV's syndicated daytime hit "Starting Over," emceed the gala awards presentation.

Atlanta-based Bennett Kuhn Varner, Inc (BKV), the Southeast's largest full service direct response advertising agency, was nominated for a television commercial it produced for the Black & Decker® Mosquito Halo product, a portable, battery-powered device that produces a unique scent that masks human scent to actively block mosquitoes' radar on people and pets. The commercial featured an animated mosquito.

The NATAS Southeast region includes Alabama, Georgia, Mississippi, South Carolina and Asheville, NC. www.natassoutheast.tv.

(L-R) Entertainment attorney Darryl Cohen, National NATAS second vice-chair and trustee; his wife, Markie Cohen; Danny Snyder, chief creative officer for Emmy nominee Bennett Kuhn Varner (BKV); and Suchita Vadlamani, co-host of "Good Day Atlanta" on WAGA-TV (FOX) and an Emmy presenter.
